1Question

Tell me about a time when you had to work as part of a team on a construction site

During a 6-month office block construction project, our 8-person ground crew needed to coordinate materials delivery for 3 different trades working simultaneously. I took responsibility for organising the steel deliveries to avoid conflicts with the concrete pours. By creating a simple schedule board and communicating with each trade supervisor, we reduced delivery delays from 4 hours daily to under 30 minutes. This improved overall site productivity and earned praise from the site manager for proactive teamwork.
2Question

How do you maintain reliability and punctuality in demanding physical work?

On my previous 12-month construction contract, I maintained 100% attendance despite the physical demands by establishing a consistent routine. I prepared my work clothes and PPE the night before, set multiple alarms, and kept a backup transport plan for my 6:30am starts. I also maintained my fitness through weekend activities and proper nutrition during breaks. This reliability meant I was often chosen for overtime shifts and received a commendation letter from the site manager for consistent performance throughout the contract.
