1Question

Tell me about a time when you had to work as part of a team on a construction site

During a 8-week residential development project, I worked alongside 12 tradespeople including bricklayers and roofers. When the materials delivery was delayed by 3 days, I coordinated with the site manager to reorganise our workflow, helping electricians complete their first-fix work while we waited. I also assisted the plumbing team by pre-positioning their materials in the correct rooms. This collaborative approach meant we recovered 2 of the 3 lost days, keeping the project close to schedule and maintaining good relationships across all trades.
2Question

Describe a situation where you noticed a safety hazard and how you handled it

While unloading steel beams from a delivery truck, I noticed the ground was waterlogged from overnight rain, making it unstable for the crane outriggers. Rather than proceed, I immediately informed the site manager and suggested we wait 2 hours for the ground to drain and lay steel plates for stability. This delayed the lift by half a day but prevented potential crane instability. The site manager commended my safety awareness, and we completed the steel installation the following morning with zero incidents.
