Application advice
5 AI-generated recommendations to maximise your chances.
⭐ Lead your CV with a Personal Statement that explicitly references 'sales targets' and 'KPI achievement' — the advert lists these as primary requirements in the 'What we are looking for' section.
📊 Quantify your sales results: e.g. 'Consistently exceeded monthly sales targets by 18%, generating £320k in annual depot revenue' — Howdens prioritises commercially minded candidates.
🎯 Mention any experience conducting home visits or client consultations, as the advert specifically calls out measuring and assessing client needs on-site as a core duty.
🛠️ If you have CAD experience (even basic), name the software (e.g. Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or kitchen-specific tools like Winner Design) — the advert flags CAD as preferred and training is provided, so any existing knowledge is a differentiator.
🤝 Highlight trade or B2B customer relationship experience prominently — the advert references '460,000 loyal trade professionals' as Howdens' customer base, so demonstrable trade-facing sales history will resonate strongly.
