1Question

Tell me about a time when you had to manage multiple urgent HR requests simultaneously

During a busy recruitment period, I received 8 urgent requests in one morning including 3 new starter onboarding packs needed by 2pm, 2 contract amendments requiring immediate processing, and 3 Right to Work checks for contractors starting the next day. I prioritised by deadline impact, delegated the contract amendments to a colleague while I focused on the time-critical onboarding documentation. I created a tracking spreadsheet to monitor progress and communicated realistic timelines to all stakeholders. By working systematically and maintaining clear communication, I completed all requests within deadlines, ensuring no delays to business operations while maintaining accuracy in all documentation.
2Question

Give an example of when you improved an HR process or made it more efficient

I noticed our contractor renewal process was taking 5 days on average and causing delays. After analysing the workflow, I identified that manual email chains between 4 departments were the bottleneck. I created a shared tracking spreadsheet with automated reminder notifications and standardised renewal templates. I also established weekly review meetings with key stakeholders to address any issues proactively. This reduced the average renewal time to 2 days and improved contractor satisfaction scores by 25%. The process became so efficient that we adopted similar approaches for other HR administrative tasks.
