1Question

Tell me about a time you managed competing priorities in a part-time role

While working 22 hours weekly as HR Advisor, I faced simultaneous urgent recruitment for 3 positions and a complex disciplinary case during peak holiday season. I prioritised by impact and deadlines, scheduling candidate interviews for early mornings when I was freshest, and dedicating focused afternoon blocks to the disciplinary investigation. I used Excel to track all activities and communicated daily updates to stakeholders. This approach resulted in all 3 positions being filled within 4 weeks and the disciplinary case resolved fairly within policy timelines, maintaining team morale throughout.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to work with international stakeholders across time zones

Our German parent company required quarterly HR metrics alignment across 5 European offices. With stakeholders in Munich, Amsterdam, and London, I established weekly calls at 9am GMT to accommodate all time zones. I created standardised PowerPoint templates and Excel dashboards that could be easily understood across language barriers. When cultural differences emerged around performance review approaches, I facilitated compromise solutions that respected local practices while maintaining group standards. This resulted in successful implementation of unified HR processes across all locations within 8 weeks.
