3

🎯 Name any MIS platforms you have used (e.g. SIMS, iSAMS, Bromcom) directly in your skills section, as the advert specifically flags MIS exposure as advantageous.

1Question

Tell me about a time you had to manage several high-priority administrative tasks at once — how did you organise your workload and what was the outcome?

Situation: During an Ofsted preparation period at my previous school, I was simultaneously responsible for updating 480 pupil records in the MIS, compiling a statutory safeguarding report, and coordinating a parent communication mailout — all due within the same week. Task: I needed to ensure zero errors across all three workstreams without missing any deadline. Action: I mapped each task against daily time blocks, prioritised the statutory report first due to its regulatory weight, and enlisted a colleague to cross-check the MIS data entries. I used a shared tracker to flag progress in real time. Result: All three deliverables were completed on time, the safeguarding report passed review without amendments, and the MIS data audit returned a 99% accuracy rate.
2Question

Describe a situation where you identified a compliance gap or process failure. What steps did you take to resolve it?

Situation: While conducting a routine audit of staff DBS records at my previous employer, I discovered that 12 records had not been renewed within the required three-year cycle, creating a safeguarding compliance risk. Task: I needed to resolve the gap urgently and prevent recurrence without causing alarm among staff. Action: I immediately flagged the issue to the HR Manager and created a prioritised renewal schedule. I set up automated calendar reminders in the HR system 90 days before each expiry date and drafted a clear renewal process guide distributed to all line managers. Result: All 12 renewals were completed within four weeks, and in the following 18 months there were zero overdue DBS renewals across the organisation.
