Teachers Wanted: Opportunities Across Greater Manchester

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting passionate, adaptable and dedicated Supply Teachers to work across a variety of welcoming and supportive primary schools throughout Bolton, Bury and the surrounding boroughs.

We are looking for enthusiastic teachers who can confidently deliver engaging lessons, manage classroom behaviour effectively and support pupils in reaching their full potential. Whether you are an experienced teacher looking for flexibility, an ECT wanting to gain experience in different school settings, or someone returning to teaching, we would love to hear from you.

To be considered for these opportunities, candidates must:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have experience working within UK schools
* Be passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and learning

Supply teaching offers excellent flexibility and the opportunity to work in a range of school environments while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We have opportunities available for day-to-day, short-term and long-term placements to suit your availability and preferences.

Alongside daily supply cover, we also recruit for long-term teaching opportunities including maternity covers, long-term sickness cover and temp-to-perm positions starting from September and throughout the academic year. These roles can be a fantastic opportunity for teachers looking for more consistency, experience within a particular school, or the chance to secure a permanent position.

Although we are currently recruiting heavily for Primary Supply Teachers, we also recruit for Secondary Teachers and SEN Teachers across a variety of settings. We work with schools throughout Bolton, Bury, Salford, Rochdale, Manchester, Oldham, Tameside and Stockport offering a wide range of opportunities across different year groups and specialisms.

At Tradewind Recruitment, we pride ourselves on supporting our candidates throughout their journey. Our dedicated consultants work closely with schools to match teachers with roles that suit their experience, skills and career goals.

**We also offer £100 referral bonuses when you refer a Teacher or Teaching Assistant to Tradewind Recruitment.**

STAR answer examples

Model answers using the Situation-Task-Action-Result framework. Adapt to your own experience.

1Question

Tell me about a time you had to quickly adapt to a challenging classroom situation

During a last-minute Year 3 supply placement, I arrived to find 28 pupils with no lesson plans due to teacher illness. I quickly assessed their current topic on Victorian history and created an interactive timeline activity using classroom resources. I split the class into 4 groups, each researching different aspects of Victorian life, then presenting findings to peers. This kept all pupils engaged for the full morning session, and the head teacher commented on how well-organised and educational the impromptu lesson was. The experience taught me the importance of quick thinking and using available resources creatively.
2Question

Describe how you would handle a disruptive pupil in an unfamiliar school environment

When covering a Year 5 class, one pupil consistently interrupted lessons and refused to follow instructions. I first observed the school's behaviour policy displayed on the wall, then calmly approached the pupil privately during break. I discovered they were struggling with the maths work and acting out from frustration. I adapted the tasks to their level, provided additional visual aids, and established a simple reward system for positive participation. By lunch, their behaviour had improved significantly, and they completed 3 maths problems independently. This reinforced my belief in addressing underlying causes rather than just managing symptoms.
