1Question

Tell me about a time you helped a customer make a high-value purchase decision

A customer was considering a £1,200 mattress purchase but seemed hesitant about the investment. I spent 45 minutes understanding their sleep issues, back problems, and partner preferences. I demonstrated three different mattresses, explained the 10-year warranty benefits, and arranged a comfort trial period. By focusing on their specific needs rather than pushing the sale, I built trust and they purchased the premium model plus matching pillows, totalling £1,400. They returned two weeks later to thank me and referred two friends who also made purchases.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to work towards challenging sales targets

During a particularly slow January period, I was £2,800 behind my monthly target with only 8 days remaining. I analysed my approach and realised I wasn't effectively following up with browsing customers. I implemented a new system of taking contact details and calling customers within 24 hours with additional product information. This resulted in converting 6 previous browsers into sales, generating £3,200 in revenue and finishing the month at 102% of target. I maintained this follow-up approach and consistently exceeded targets for the following 4 months.
