The Role:
This role sits within our Saab Seaeye Business Unit.
The Quality Control Inspector plays a key role in ensuring product both received and delivered meet the required quality standards. The role involves detailed checks, documentation, liaising with suppliers, and managing non-conformances to maintain product integrity and supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Performing dimensional checks, visual inspections, and using measuring equipment to verify parts.

Checking deliveries against paperwork (packing lists, purchase orders) for accuracy in quantity and items.

Creating and maintaining detailed inspection records, test reports, and audit trails.

Identifying defects, quarantining non-compliant items, and initiating corrective actions

Working with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and improve processes

To use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in day to day activities and procedures within the specified role.

To maintain personal ability in, and appropriate use of, all relevant IT (Information and Technology) and other systems required to adequately perform the role.

To act ethically, with integrity and in the best interest of the business at all times.

To maintain a professional and supportive relationship with team members and other departments in order to deliver business objectives or deadlines.

To carry out any other duties as detailed by a member of the management team or authorized representative.

To ensure that the working area is a clean and safe environment in compliance with our Health and Safety policies.
Skills and Experience:
-
Proven experience of working in a Quality Mechanical Inspector role.
-
Significant previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment using mechanical measuring equipment.

Familiar with FAIR's and or PPAP.

Proven ability to use a wide range of hand measuring tools and other inspection equipment including a CNC CMM.

Previous experience of producing accurate and detailed comprehensive written reports on non-conforming product.

Microsoft Office skills, including the creation of Excel spreadsheets.

Able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Fluent in English.

Good presentation and communication skills at all levels, both externally and internally.

Literate and numerical aptitude.
