1Question

Tell me about a time you had to manage multiple stakeholders with conflicting priorities

During a £2.8M data centre project, the Design team wanted 6 additional weeks for system optimisation while the client demanded delivery 2 weeks early for their server migration deadline. I organised a stakeholder workshop mapping each party's core requirements and constraints. I negotiated a phased delivery approach where critical cooling systems were commissioned first, allowing the client's migration to proceed on schedule, while non-critical optimisations continued in parallel. This solution satisfied both technical excellence and business timing, delivering the project with 99.2% uptime performance.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to recover a project that was behind schedule and over budget

A manufacturing facility M&E project was 4 weeks behind and £180k over budget due to procurement delays and design changes. I conducted a comprehensive project audit, identifying that 60% of delays stemmed from unclear specifications. I restructured the team into 3 focused workstreams, renegotiated supplier contracts achieving 15% cost savings, and implemented daily progress reviews. Through parallel work streams and weekend commissioning, we recovered 3 weeks and finished only £45k over budget, achieving client satisfaction score of 94%.
