1Question

Tell me about a time when you had to translate complex business requirements into technical Oracle solutions

During a major Oracle Fusion HCM implementation for a 8,000-employee manufacturing company, the HR director required a complex performance management dashboard that combined talent data from 4 different modules with real-time absence tracking. The business wanted to see employee performance ratings alongside absence patterns to identify potential retention risks. I analysed the requirement and designed a solution using OTBI to extract data from Core HR, Talent Management, and Absence Management modules, then created a BI Publisher report with automated weekly distribution. I facilitated 3 workshops with stakeholders to refine the requirements and delivered the solution 2 weeks early. The dashboard identified 127 high-performing employees with concerning absence patterns, enabling proactive retention conversations that reduced turnover by 23% in the following quarter.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to facilitate workshops with conflicting stakeholder requirements

While implementing Oracle HCM for a financial services client, the Payroll team wanted detailed transaction-level reporting for compliance, while HR preferred high-level summary dashboards for executive reporting. Both teams insisted their approach was essential and wouldn't compromise. I organised a joint workshop where I mapped out both requirements and demonstrated how Oracle's layered reporting architecture could satisfy both needs. I showed how OTBI could generate the detailed payroll compliance reports while BI Publisher could create executive summaries from the same data source. I created prototypes of both report types and facilitated a hands-on session where each team could see their requirements met. This approach resolved the conflict and actually improved the overall reporting strategy, with both teams requesting additional integrated reports that leveraged the shared data model.
