1Question

Tell me about a time you managed competing priorities with minimal oversight

During a system migration project, I simultaneously managed payroll for 120 employees across 4 countries while implementing new global mobility processes. I created a priority matrix ranking tasks by compliance risk and business impact. I scheduled critical payroll activities during low-risk periods and delegated vendor coordination to trusted partners. By establishing weekly checkpoint calls with regional stakeholders, I maintained visibility without micromanagement. The result was zero payroll delays, successful migration of 85% of processes within 8 weeks, and improved stakeholder confidence in HR operations delivery.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to influence stakeholders across different geographies

When standardising global benefits policies, I faced resistance from regional managers who preferred local flexibility. I conducted individual calls with each regional lead to understand their specific concerns and compliance requirements. I then created a hybrid framework that maintained 70% standardisation while allowing 30% regional customisation for statutory requirements. I presented comparative cost analysis showing £180,000 annual savings through standardised vendor contracts. By demonstrating respect for local needs while quantifying global benefits, I secured unanimous approval from all 6 regional stakeholders within 3 months.
