Application advice
5 AI-generated recommendations to maximise your chances.
⭐ Open your CV with a Personal Statement that explicitly names 'Legal PA' and 'Family Law' — the advert flags legal sector experience as essential and Family Law as the specialism.
📊 Quantify your PA workload: e.g. 'Managed case documentation for a 6-fee-earner Family Law team, processing 80+ correspondence items per week' to show scale of support.
🎯 Dedicate a bullet to HR and office management duties (rotas, payroll queries, petty cash) — these are listed as distinct responsibilities and set this role apart from a standard legal secretary post.
📝 Highlight dictation transcription and proofreading skills explicitly, referencing accuracy and turnaround standards, as the advert calls out off-site dictation as a key task.
🤝 Include a line about supporting a senior Partner or Head of Department, as the role centres on being a trusted right-hand to a newly appointed Partner — demonstrating that seniority of support will resonate strongly.

Dear Hiring Manager,
Supporting a Family Law Partner and Head of Department at a growing Worcester law firm is precisely the kind of role I have been building my career towards. Having worked as a Legal PA within a busy legal environment, I bring hands-on experience in case documentation management, dictation transcription, and the full range of secretarial support that a senior fee earner depends on daily.
My background in legal PA work includes managing correspondence across multiple active matters, taking accurate minutes in departmental meetings, and handling HR-related duties such as staff rotas and payroll queries. I have also taken ownership of office management responsibilities including petty cash, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of a department without the need for close supervision.
