1Question

Tell me about a time you exceeded sales targets under pressure

During Q4 last year, our team was 22% behind target with just 6 weeks remaining due to supply chain delays affecting customer confidence. I took the initiative to personally visit 15 key accounts, conducting face-to-face consultations to rebuild trust and demonstrate our commitment. I restructured payment terms for 3 major clients worth £45k total and introduced a referral incentive programme that generated 8 new leads. Through these targeted relationship-building efforts and proactive problem-solving, I personally delivered £67k in sales during those final weeks, finishing the quarter 12% above my individual target and helping the team recover to just 3% below overall target.
2Question

Describe a situation where you built a strong relationship with a difficult customer

A trade contractor had experienced quality issues with a previous supplier and was extremely sceptical about switching to our products for a £28k kitchen project. He demanded extensive documentation and was resistant to our standard processes. I scheduled three separate meetings, bringing product samples and technical specifications each time. I arranged a site visit to one of our successful installations and connected him directly with our quality assurance manager. Over 4 weeks, I maintained regular contact, addressing every concern with detailed responses and evidence. This patience and transparency approach resulted in not only securing the £28k contract but also establishing a ongoing relationship that has generated £156k in repeat business over 18 months.
