1Question

Tell me about a time you exceeded sales targets. What strategies did you use?

In my previous role, I was tasked with achieving £25k monthly sales but consistently delivered £32k over six months. I identified that 60% of our customers were repeat buyers, so I implemented a proactive follow-up system calling existing clients every three weeks. I also analysed purchasing patterns and discovered Tuesday mornings had 40% higher conversion rates, so I scheduled key presentations then. Additionally, I partnered with three local contractors who referred 12 new customers monthly. This systematic approach resulted in 28% above target performance and earned me the quarterly sales award.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to build trust with a difficult customer

A commercial client was frustrated after receiving incorrect specifications from our previous designer, resulting in a two-week project delay. I immediately visited their site, acknowledged the error, and spent three hours understanding their exact requirements. I provided daily progress updates and personally oversaw the revised order worth £8,400. When delivery issues arose with one component, I sourced an alternative supplier at no extra cost and hand-delivered it myself. The client was so impressed they signed a £15k annual contract and referred four additional customers. This experience taught me that transparency and personal accountability are crucial for rebuilding damaged relationships.
