1Question

Tell me about a time when you exceeded customer expectations in a service role

A pharmaceutical client had recurring issues with their fire pump system that previous engineers couldn't resolve. I spent 3 hours systematically checking all components and discovered a faulty pressure sensor that wasn't obvious during standard inspections. I sourced a replacement sensor within 24 hours and installed it during their planned maintenance window. The client was so impressed they requested me specifically for all future servicing. This resulted in a 12-month service contract worth £15,000 and led to referrals to 2 other pharmaceutical sites.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to promote health and safety in the workplace

During a routine sprinkler inspection at a food processing facility, I noticed workers weren't using proper fall protection when accessing elevated areas near the fire suppression equipment. I immediately stopped work and spoke with the site manager about the risks. I arranged a 30-minute safety briefing for 8 staff members, demonstrating proper harness use and explaining Working at Height regulations. The facility implemented new safety protocols and reported zero height-related incidents over the following 6 months, compared to 2 minor incidents in the previous quarter.
