MERITUS are recruiting for a Field Service Technician to join our client within the Electrical Systems and Engineering sector, supporting UK and international customers from their Telford base and global client sites.
FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN - UP TO £40,000 + OVERTIME - TELFORD + CUSTOMER SITES (UK & INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL) - SECTOR: ELECTRICAL / OEM EQUIPMENT
- Service, maintain, and support electrical and mechanical systems at customer sites across the UK and worldwide.
- Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics, testing, and inspection of complex electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Install, commission, and validate systems in line with engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Provide technical support to UK and international customers via telephone and email.
- Build, assemble, and prepare systems and equipment in accordance with engineering specifications and production schedules.
- Support global customers with reactive and scheduled service requirements, including occasional weekend cover and international travel.
Skillset / experience required:
Essential:
- Proven experience in a field service, OEM support, or electrical engineering maintenance role.
- Strong electrical control and fault-finding skills, with a good mechanical understanding.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Competence using Microsoft Office and computer-based diagnostic tools.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work flexible schedules when required.
Desirable:
- Previous experience supporting OEM machinery or industrial automation equipment.
- Background in electrical maintenance, service engineering, or commissioning roles.
- Experience working with international customers or on global projects.
- Understanding of industrial control systems or automated equipment.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills and problem-solving ability.
