Hays Education are working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Stockport with an excellent reputation to recruit a passionate and dedicated Computing Teacher.
Your new role
As a Computing Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will inspire students to develop their knowledge of digital technologies, programming, and computer science in a supportive learning environment.
The school has a strong reputation for supporting both students and staff, with a focus on academic achievement, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
Key duties include:
- Planning and delivering creative Computing lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teaching core topics such as programming (e.g. Python), systems, networks, and cybersecurity
- Assessing and monitoring pupil progress, providing constructive feedback
- Supporting students of varying abilities to reach their full potential
- Contributing to departmental planning and extracurricular activities where appropriate
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Have a degree in Computing, IT, or a related subject
- Have experience teaching Computing at secondary level (ECTs are welcome to apply)
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills
- Be passionate about education and committed to student progress
