1Question

Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer during a delivery

While delivering to a busy restaurant during lunch service, the manager complained that our delivery was 30 minutes late and blocking their loading bay. I acknowledged their frustration and quickly assessed the situation. I efficiently unloaded the 15 cases of stock, double-checked the delivery note with the manager, and repositioned my vehicle to clear the bay within 10 minutes. I also provided the manager with my direct contact number for future delivery coordination. The manager thanked me for my professionalism and we maintained a positive relationship for subsequent deliveries.
2Question

How do you prioritise deliveries when running behind schedule?

During a particularly busy Friday, traffic delays put me 45 minutes behind my 8-delivery schedule. I immediately contacted my depot to inform them of the situation, then called ahead to customers affected by the delays. I prioritised deliveries based on customer urgency and proximity, rerouting to serve the restaurant needing fresh stock for weekend service first, followed by the convenience store expecting their newspaper delivery. By communicating proactively and adjusting my route efficiently, I completed all deliveries within 2 hours of the original schedule and received positive feedback from customers for keeping them informed.
