Business Support Office - Always recruiting

  • Location: S70, Barnsley
  • Hourly Rate: £13.26 PAYE

We are often seeking Business Support Officers to provide an effective support service to a diverse range of front-line and statutory services in accordance with relevant government legislation and guidelines. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide an efficient and confidential business support service to front-line and statutory services.
  • Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries, offering advice, guidance, signposting, and support to internal and external customers across a diverse range of service functions in line with legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Minute taking
  • Respond to various types of correspondence and manage incoming and outgoing information.
  • Liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including managers, employees, and members of the public, ensuring information and communication links are maintained.
  • Support statutory meetings, including recording decisions accurately and swiftly directly onto e-forms and templates using mobile IT devices.
  • Organise and coordinate meetings, diaries, and appointments, ensuring schedules and venues are appropriate for attendees.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in servicing meetings and minute-taking directly onto mobile devices at speed and with accuracy.
  • Proven experience working with highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Experience working in a busy local authority or public sector environment.
  • Good knowledge of information governance, data protection, health & safety, and risk management.
