1Question

Tell me about a time you exceeded your sales targets significantly

In my previous role at a financial services company, I was tasked with generating £120k revenue in Q3 through outbound calls to lapsed clients. The situation was challenging as our conversion rates had dropped to 18%. I implemented a structured approach, segmenting the 800-person database by last engagement date and tailoring my pitch accordingly. I increased my daily call volume from 80 to 120 contacts and developed specific objection-handling scripts. As a result, I generated £156k revenue, exceeding my target by 30% and achieving a 26% conversion rate, which became the team benchmark.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to re-engage a difficult or unresponsive client

I had a high-value contractor worth £15k annually who had been unresponsive for 8 months despite multiple contact attempts. Rather than continuing with standard calls, I researched their business challenges through LinkedIn and industry publications. I discovered they were expanding into new sectors and facing IR35 compliance issues. I repositioned my approach, calling with specific insights about IR35 changes affecting their industry. This consultative approach led to a 45-minute conversation where I demonstrated our compliance solutions. They reactivated their account within 2 weeks, generating £18k revenue in the first quarter.
