STAR answer examples

1Question

Tell me about a time when you had to deal with a difficult customer enquiry

A potential buyer called frustrated because a property viewing had been cancelled last minute due to the vendor's illness. I immediately apologised and explained the situation professionally. I then checked our system and offered three alternative viewing slots within 48 hours, including an evening appointment to accommodate their work schedule. I also provided additional property photos and a virtual tour link to maintain their interest. The customer appreciated the proactive approach and proceeded with a viewing the following day, ultimately making an offer on the property.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

During a particularly busy Monday morning, I had 15 new property listings to upload to portals, 8 customer callbacks to make, and a budget report due by midday. I prioritised by urgency and impact: first uploaded time-sensitive new listings that were launching that day, then made callbacks to serious buyers who had weekend viewings, and finally completed the budget report. I used a task tracking system to monitor progress and completed all tasks by the deadline. This systematic approach ensured no opportunities were missed while maintaining quality standards.
