Application advice
5 AI-generated recommendations to maximise your chances.
⭐ Lead your CV with your Level 3 Vehicle Technician qualification prominently in your Personal Statement, as the advert lists this as the primary requirement under 'The Person'.
📊 Quantify your hands-on experience: e.g. 'Diagnosed and repaired 20+ light vehicles per week across petrol, diesel, and hybrid drivetrains over 6 years at a franchised dealership'.
🔋 Highlight any EV or hybrid vehicle experience explicitly, as the advert references Electric Vehicle (EV) as a keyword and the company incorporates the latest technologies into training.
🎯 Include any informal mentoring, apprentice supervision, or on-the-job coaching you have done — the advert is targeting technicians transitioning into training, so even informal experience is highly relevant.
🌐 Mention familiarity with both virtual and in-person delivery formats if applicable, as the role requires curriculum delivery 'both online and in the workshop' in a hybrid working model.

Dear Hiring Manager,
Having spent several years as a qualified Level 3 Vehicle Technician working across light vehicle maintenance and diagnostics, I was immediately drawn to this Vehicle Technician Trainer role at your organisation. The opportunity to apply my hands-on automotive expertise within a structured training environment — delivering curriculum both virtually and in the workshop — aligns precisely with the direction I want my career to take.
My background in light vehicle servicing, fault diagnosis, and dealership-level repair has given me a thorough grounding in the technical content your training programmes cover. I have informally supported junior technicians throughout my career, explaining diagnostic procedures and guiding them through complex repairs, which has reinforced my interest in moving into a dedicated training role. I am keen to develop formally as an instructor and to incorporate emerging technologies such as EV drivetrains into course content.
