1Question

Tell me about a time you had to manage conflicting requirements from multiple stakeholders

During a defence systems project, I faced conflicting requirements between operational users wanting maximum functionality and procurement demanding cost reduction. The operational team required 15 additional sensor interfaces while procurement needed to cut £400,000 from the budget. I organised a requirements workshop using MODAF operational views to map critical vs nice-to-have capabilities. Through stakeholder analysis, I identified 8 essential interfaces that met 90% of operational needs while reducing costs by £320,000. This solution satisfied both parties and was approved within 2 weeks, keeping the project on schedule.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to integrate deliveries from multiple suppliers

I managed integration of deliveries from 6 suppliers for a communications system upgrade. Each supplier had different interface standards and delivery schedules spanning 4 months. I developed comprehensive Interface Control Documents defining 24 integration points and established weekly supplier coordination meetings. When one supplier's API changes threatened to delay integration by 6 weeks, I worked with the team to develop adapter modules that maintained compatibility. The integration was completed 2 weeks early, with all 6 subsystems achieving 98% performance targets during acceptance testing.
