1Question

Tell me about a time you helped a customer make a high-value purchase decision

A customer visited our store looking for a new sofa but seemed overwhelmed by the £2,400 price point. I spent 45 minutes understanding their family needs, space requirements, and budget concerns. Rather than pushing the sale, I demonstrated the quality features, explained our 5-year warranty, and arranged a payment plan. I followed up with a phone call two days later to answer additional questions. The customer purchased the sofa plus matching accessories worth £2,800 total, and later referred three family members who also made purchases. This taught me that taking time to truly understand customer needs leads to better outcomes for everyone.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to work towards challenging sales targets

During a particularly slow quarter, I was 28% behind my £15,000 monthly target with just 10 days remaining. I analysed my approach and realised I was focusing too heavily on lower-value items. I shifted strategy to concentrate on premium products, spent extra time with each customer to understand their full needs, and offered complementary items. I also reached out to previous customers about upgrades. Through this focused approach, I achieved £16,200 in sales that month, exceeding my target by 108%. The experience taught me the importance of strategic thinking and adaptability when facing challenges.
