1Question

Tell me about a time you had to learn new skills quickly on the job

When I started at my previous manufacturing role, I needed to learn their specific quality inspection process within 2 weeks. The situation required me to master visual defect identification on electronic components while maintaining production targets. I took the initiative to study technical manuals during breaks and asked experienced colleagues for guidance. I also created my own reference cards for common defects. As a result, I achieved full competency in 10 days instead of the usual 14, and my inspection accuracy rate reached 98.5% within the first month, exceeding the 95% target.
2Question

How do you maintain quality standards under time pressure?

During a particularly busy period at my last role, we had to increase production by 30% while maintaining our zero-defect standard. The task required processing 400 units per shift instead of the usual 300. I developed a systematic approach, breaking down my inspection process into 3 key checkpoints and using a timer to maintain consistent pace. I also coordinated with the packaging team to streamline handovers. This approach allowed me to maintain my 99.1% accuracy rate while meeting the increased targets, and we delivered the urgent order 2 days ahead of schedule.
