1Question

Tell me about a time you had to manage underperforming suppliers

When our key component supplier's delivery performance dropped to 78% OTIF, I implemented a structured improvement plan. I arranged weekly performance reviews, established clear KPI targets, and provided additional forecasting data to help them plan better. I also identified backup suppliers to reduce risk. Within 8 weeks, their performance improved to 94% OTIF, and we maintained supply continuity throughout. This experience taught me the importance of proactive supplier management and having contingency plans in place.
2Question

Describe a situation where you improved procurement efficiency in your team

Our procurement cycle time was averaging 16 days, causing production delays. I analysed our MRP data and identified bottlenecks in approval processes and supplier response times. I streamlined approval workflows, implemented automated purchase order generation for standard items, and negotiated framework agreements with 8 key suppliers. I also trained the team on the new processes and established daily monitoring dashboards. These changes reduced our average cycle time to 9 days and improved production schedule adherence by 23%.
