A market-leading manufacturing business require a Procurement Manager. The Procurement Manager will oversee a small team of Buyers, be responsible for driving and refining procurement operations and lead strategic and supplier relationship management activities.
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for ensuring the business secures high-quality materials and services at competitive costs while maintaining supply continuity and supporting operational efficiency.
Specific duties of the Procurement Manager will include:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies across existing product ranges and also NPI
- Align procurement strategy with overall business and commercial planning
- Supply market intelligence and supplier selection activities - cradle-to-grave
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers
- Manage suppliers through KPI metrics such as QCD, OTIF, OTD etc.
- Manage a small team of Buyers
- Improve procurement efficiencies - analyse and assess business' use of MRP
- Drive procurement policy, processes and best practices among team and wider stakeholder network
Procurement Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Procurement experience, ideally at Senior Buyer, Strategic Buyer, Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager or Supply Chain Manager level
- Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering business
- Previous experience of supervising, mentoring, managing or leading teams - It's not a hardcore management role, but some previous exposure to this would be advantageous
- Strategic procurement skills - negotiating, supplier relationship management, managing contracts/agreements
- Experience in the use of MRP/ERP
