1Question

Tell me about a time you had to work consistently on night shifts.

In my previous warehouse role, I worked 22:00-06:00 shifts for 8 months during peak season. Initially, I struggled with the adjustment, so I established a strict sleep routine, going to bed at 09:00 and waking at 20:00. I also meal-prepped healthy snacks to maintain energy levels throughout the shift. By week 3, I had fully adapted and actually preferred the quieter work environment. My attendance was 100% during this period, and I received recognition for maintaining consistent productivity levels even during the challenging winter months when daylight was limited.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to maintain high standards under time pressure.

During a busy catering event, our dishwashing team was reduced from 4 to 2 people due to illness, but we still had 200 place settings to clean within 2 hours before the next service. I reorganised our workflow, pre-sorting items by type and setting up an efficient rinse-wash-sanitise system. I maintained our usual cleaning standards by doing quick quality checks every 15 minutes rather than at the end. We completed all 200 settings in 1 hour 45 minutes with zero items needing re-washing, ensuring the event stayed on schedule.
