1Question

Tell me about a time you had to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a warehouse

During a particularly busy period, our warehouse received an urgent order for 25 boilers that needed same-day dispatch whilst we were already behind on regular picking schedules. I quickly reorganised my workflow, coordinating with 3 team members to tackle the urgent order first. We implemented a buddy system where one person picked whilst another packed, reducing our usual 45-minute picking time to 28 minutes per order. This approach allowed us to complete the urgent dispatch and catch up on regular orders by end of shift, maintaining our 98% on-time delivery rate.
2Question

Describe a situation where you provided excellent customer service at a trade counter

A plumber arrived to collect radiators for an emergency job, but our system showed a discrepancy between his order and available stock. Rather than turning him away, I investigated the delivery paperwork and discovered 8 radiators had been misallocated to another order. I immediately contacted our warehouse supervisor, located the correct items within 15 minutes, and personally loaded them onto his van. The customer completed his emergency repair on schedule and specifically requested our branch for future orders, generating £2,400 in additional business over the following month.
