1Question

Tell me about a time when you identified an error or discrepancy in documentation

While processing mortgage applications at a building society, I noticed inconsistencies in employment dates across 12 applications from the same broker. The situation required immediate attention as these applications were scheduled for final approval. I systematically cross-referenced each application against supporting documentation and discovered the broker had been using outdated employment verification letters. I escalated this to my supervisor and contacted the broker directly to request updated documentation. As a result, we prevented potential compliance issues and the broker implemented a new verification process, reducing similar errors by 85% over the following quarter.
2Question

How do you maintain focus and accuracy when performing repetitive tasks?

During my role processing insurance claims, I handled 180+ applications daily with identical verification steps. I developed a systematic approach using checklists and took 5-minute breaks every 90 minutes to maintain concentration. I also implemented a double-checking system where I reviewed every 10th application in detail. This method helped me maintain a 99.2% accuracy rate over 8 months, and my supervisor adopted my checklist system for the entire team. The structured approach prevented errors while maintaining productivity targets consistently.
