1Question

Tell me about a time you had to adapt quickly to changing priorities

During a busy retail promotion period, I was scheduled to set up displays at 4 stores when my manager called at 9am requesting urgent stock replenishment at 2 additional locations due to unexpected demand. I quickly reorganised my route using GPS navigation, prioritised the high-traffic stores first, and coordinated with store managers to reschedule non-urgent display work. By working through lunch and streamlining my setup process, I completed all 6 locations by 5pm. The result was maintaining 100% stock availability during the peak promotion weekend, and my manager praised my flexibility in handling the last-minute changes.
2Question

Describe a situation where you built a positive relationship with a difficult colleague

I worked with a store manager who initially resisted our merchandising visits, claiming they disrupted operations. Rather than avoiding him, I scheduled a brief meeting to understand his concerns. He explained that previous merchandisers left areas messy and blocked aisles during busy periods. I adapted my approach by arriving during quieter hours, cleaning up thoroughly, and providing advance notice of my visits. Within 3 weeks, he began offering assistance with heavy lifting and even suggested better display locations. This improved relationship led to 20% better product placement compliance at his store and he became an advocate for our brand with other managers.
