1Question

Tell me about a time you had to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

During a busy retail shift, our store received an unexpected delivery of 200 promotional items that needed immediate floor placement before a weekend sale. The original plan was to focus on standard restocking, but I quickly adapted by reorganising my priorities. I coordinated with 3 team members to create an efficient workflow, setting up the promotional display in 90 minutes while maintaining regular stock levels. This flexibility resulted in £3,200 in promotional sales over the weekend and positive feedback from management about our responsiveness to changing business needs.
2Question

Describe a situation where you built a positive relationship with a difficult store team member

I worked with a store supervisor who was initially resistant to merchandising changes, viewing them as disruptive to daily operations. I took time to understand their concerns about workflow disruption and customer access. I proposed scheduling my display work during their quieter periods and offered to help with their stock organisation tasks when possible. Over 6 weeks, this collaborative approach transformed our working relationship. They began suggesting optimal timing for major displays and even helped identify slow-moving stock areas, improving our overall efficiency by 25%.
