1Question

Tell me about a time you had to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

During a busy retail shift, our delivery schedule changed unexpectedly, with 3 pallets arriving 2 hours early while I was mid-way through a major display reset. I quickly assessed the situation and prioritised the incoming stock to prevent store congestion. I completed the essential safety checks on the new delivery, moved 2 pallets to temporary storage using the pump truck, and finished the current display within 30 minutes. This flexible approach meant we maintained store operations smoothly, and the store manager praised our team's adaptability during the unexpected schedule change.
2Question

Describe a situation where you built a positive working relationship with a difficult team member

I worked with a store supervisor who was initially resistant to our merchandising changes, viewing them as disruptive to their routine. I took time to understand their concerns during quiet periods, learning that previous merchandisers had left displays incomplete. I began providing 15-minute completion updates and always ensured areas were tidier than when I started. Within 3 weeks, the supervisor began actively helping with display setup and even suggested optimal timing for future visits. This relationship improved our efficiency by 40% and became a model for other store partnerships.
