1Question

Tell me about a time when you had to resolve a manufacturing issue during a prototype build.

During a prototype build for a defence communication system, we encountered assembly tolerance issues that prevented proper component fit. I analysed the SolidWorks drawings and identified that the machined housing was 0.2mm out of specification. I worked with the Quality Engineer to implement a revised inspection process and collaborated with the machine shop to adjust the tooling. I also updated the SOP to include additional measurement points. This resolved the issue within 3 days and prevented similar problems in subsequent builds, maintaining our 98% quality target.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines on a project.

While supporting the transition of an aerospace component from prototype to qualification, I worked closely with a 12-person team including Design Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Production staff. The Design team needed manufacturing feedback on component feasibility, while Quality required detailed inspection procedures. I facilitated weekly cross-functional meetings, created shared documentation in our ERP system, and developed inspection record cards that satisfied both teams' requirements. This collaborative approach reduced the qualification timeline by 4 weeks and achieved 100% first-article inspection success.
