1Question

Tell me about a time you exceeded sales targets - what strategies did you use?

In my previous role, I was tasked with increasing quarterly sales by 15% in a challenging market. I analysed customer data and identified that 60% of our clients were repeat customers who hadn't been contacted in 6 months. I developed a systematic follow-up programme, calling 20 past customers weekly and offering exclusive product updates. I also partnered with 3 local contractors to create a referral network. Through these relationship-focused strategies, I achieved 127% of my quarterly target, generating £85,000 in additional revenue and establishing a sustainable pipeline for future quarters.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to build trust with a difficult customer

A trade customer was frustrated after receiving incorrect kitchen measurements from a previous supplier, costing them £3,200 in wasted materials. They were hesitant to work with any new suppliers. I arranged to visit their current project site and spent 2 hours re-measuring everything at no charge, providing detailed CAD drawings within 24 hours. I also connected them with our technical team for ongoing support. This demonstrated our commitment to accuracy and service. The customer placed a £12,000 order and has since become one of our top 10 accounts, referring 8 additional contractors to us.
