1Question

Tell me about a time you exceeded a challenging sales target

In Q3 last year, I was set a challenging target of £180k in sales, 25% higher than the previous quarter due to market expansion. I analysed my customer base and identified 15 high-potential accounts that hadn't purchased in 6 months. I developed a targeted outreach strategy, scheduling face-to-face meetings and offering tailored product demonstrations. I also implemented a follow-up system to nurture leads more effectively. Through this systematic approach, I achieved £220k in sales, exceeding the target by 22%. This success led to my promotion to senior sales consultant and recognition as top performer for the quarter.
2Question

Describe a situation where you built a strong relationship with a difficult customer

I inherited a trade customer who had complained about previous service quality and was considering switching suppliers. They were a high-value account worth £50k annually but had become increasingly demanding and critical. I scheduled a face-to-face meeting to understand their concerns, discovering they felt rushed during previous consultations. I restructured my approach, allocating dedicated time slots for their projects and providing detailed progress updates. I also introduced them to our technical team for complex queries. Over 6 months, their satisfaction improved dramatically, and they increased their orders by 40%, becoming one of our most loyal advocates who referred 8 new customers.
