1Question

Tell me about a time you exceeded sales targets. What strategies did you use?

In my previous role, I was tasked with achieving £45k monthly sales but consistently delivered £52k over 8 months. I identified that 60% of customers needed follow-up calls within 48 hours of initial contact. I implemented a structured CRM system to track all interactions and set daily follow-up targets. Additionally, I analysed which products had the highest margins and focused conversations on these items during consultations. This systematic approach not only exceeded targets by 16% but also improved customer satisfaction scores from 82% to 91% as clients felt better supported throughout their buying journey.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to build trust with a difficult customer

A trade contractor was frustrated after receiving incorrect measurements from a previous supplier, costing him £1,800 in wasted materials. He was sceptical about working with us and demanded multiple guarantees. I arranged to visit his current project site within 24 hours and personally re-measured the entire kitchen space using professional equipment. I provided him with detailed CAD drawings and a written guarantee covering accuracy. I also gave him direct contact details and committed to weekly progress updates. This transparency and proactive approach won his trust, leading to a £12,400 order and three referrals to other contractors in his network.
