1Question

Tell me about a time you had to manage competing priorities with multiple urgent cases

During a particularly busy period, I had 3 urgent debt recovery cases requiring immediate attention: a £450k commercial debt with a 48-hour enforcement deadline, a complex multi-party dispute worth £180k, and 15 smaller claims needing court bundle preparation. I immediately triaged by financial impact and deadline urgency, delegating the bundle preparation to a paralegal while focusing on the high-value matters. I secured the enforcement order for the £450k case within deadline, negotiated a settlement conference for the multi-party dispute, and ensured all court bundles were filed on time. This systematic approach resulted in successful outcomes across all matters without compromising quality or client service.
2Question

Give an example of when you took ownership of a challenging case

I inherited a stalled £320k debt recovery case where the debtor had disappeared and previous attempts at service had failed. Rather than writing it off, I conducted thorough asset searches and discovered the debtor had transferred property to a family member just before the original claim. I initiated setting aside proceedings, obtained freezing orders, and traced additional assets through forensic investigation. After 8 months of persistent work, I secured judgment and recovered £280k for the client. The partner praised my initiative, and this case became a template for handling similar complex enforcement matters in our team.
