1Question

Tell me about a time you provided exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment

During a particularly busy Saturday at my previous retail job, we had a queue of 20 customers and one colleague called in sick. A customer was frustrated because we'd run out of their preferred product. I acknowledged their disappointment, quickly checked our system for alternatives, and offered to call our sister store to reserve the item for collection later that day. I also provided a 10% discount for the inconvenience. The customer left satisfied and returned the following week specifically to thank me, bringing £45 in additional business.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to work as part of a team to achieve a common goal

Our store received notice of a surprise corporate visit with just 2 hours' preparation time. Our team of 5 needed to reorganise the entire shop floor and complete a deep clean. I coordinated with colleagues to divide tasks efficiently - I took responsibility for the coffee station and front counter while others handled stockroom and customer areas. We created a checklist and supported each other when someone fell behind. We completed everything 15 minutes early and received excellent feedback from the regional manager, with our teamwork specifically praised.
