*Earnings estimates are based on location and completing package deliveries across an estimated length of time (referred to as a block), completed while riding an e-bike. Deliveries are scheduled so that they can be safely completed within the allocated block time, taking into account factors such as weather and road conditions. However, the actual time taken per delivery may vary (because it could, occasionally, take less or more time than expected) so the earnings per hour may vary. Should Amazon Flex introduce blocks eligible to be delivered using scooters or other alternative modes of transportation, different rates may apply.

I own a compliant battery-operated e-bike with a cargo box meeting the 55x26x36 cm specification, and I hold a valid UK National Insurance Number and right-to-work documentation, meaning I can complete onboarding without delay.

STAR answer examples

Model answers using the Situation-Task-Action-Result framework. Adapt to your own experience.

1Question

Tell me about a time you managed your own schedule to meet multiple deadlines without supervision.

Situation: Working as a self-employed food courier in South London, I had to coordinate 3 platform apps simultaneously during a busy Friday evening. Task: I needed to complete at least 25 deliveries in a 4-hour window to meet my weekly earnings target of £280. Action: I pre-planned my route using Google Maps to cluster nearby orders, muted lower-paying notifications during peak slots, and took a 10-minute rest break mid-shift to maintain focus. Result: I completed 28 deliveries in 3 hours 50 minutes, earned £310 that evening, and received a 4.9-star rating from customers — my highest weekly score that month.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to adapt quickly to an unexpected change whilst working independently.

Situation: During a morning delivery shift in Bermondsey, my usual route was blocked by an unplanned road closure affecting 6 consecutive drop addresses. Task: I needed to reroute and redeliver all 6 parcels within the remaining 45 minutes of my block without missing the cutoff. Action: I immediately switched to a cycling-specific navigation app, reordered my drops by proximity to the diversion, and notified two customers via the delivery app that their slot would shift by 12 minutes. Result: All 6 parcels were delivered within the block window, I received no failed-delivery flags, and the shift ended 8 minutes early.
