1Question

Describe a situation where you spotted an error in a submission just before it went to a client—what did you do and what was the outcome?

I was processing a £180k cost submission for a subcontractor when I noticed the Sales SOR applied didn't match the job classification. I flagged it immediately to my team lead and cross-checked against our 12-month records to confirm the correct code. We corrected the submission 4 hours before the client deadline, preventing a compliance query that would have delayed payment by 2 weeks. The client later thanked us for the accuracy, and I documented the issue to help train two newer team members on the same classification rules.
2Question

Tell us about a time you've had to learn a new system or process quickly under pressure—how did you approach it?

When our team migrated from a legacy billing system to a new client portal, I was tasked with uploading 60+ historical sales packs within one week while maintaining daily submissions. I created a step-by-step checklist from the system training, tested it on 5 dummy uploads, then worked through the backlog systematically. I also flagged three inconsistencies in the portal's document naming convention to the IT team, which they fixed before the full rollout. By week two, I was processing uploads 30% faster than the training baseline, and my checklist became the standard process for the whole team.
