1Question

Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer during a delivery

A retail customer in Fort William was frustrated because their weekly delivery was 2 hours late due to road closures. They were concerned about missing the morning rush. I listened to their concerns, apologised sincerely, and offered to prioritise their unloading to get their shelves restocked quickly. I also provided them with my direct contact number for future delivery updates. The customer appreciated the personal attention and we maintained a strong relationship. This taught me that communication and taking ownership of problems, even beyond my control, builds customer trust.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to work under pressure to meet delivery deadlines

During a particularly busy Christmas period, I had 12 deliveries scheduled but my usual route was disrupted by severe weather. With shops depending on stock for holiday shoppers, I quickly reorganised my route using local knowledge to avoid problem areas. I contacted each customer to confirm revised delivery times and worked an extra 2 hours to complete all deliveries. Despite the challenges, I achieved 100% delivery completion that day. The experience showed me the importance of flexibility and proactive communication when facing unexpected obstacles.
