1Question

How would you embrace and support the Jewish ethos of our school?

In my previous role at a multicultural primary school, I worked closely with families from diverse religious backgrounds to understand their values and traditions. I took time to learn about Jewish festivals and customs, incorporating them respectfully into classroom discussions and displays. I collaborated with the school's religious studies coordinator to ensure my teaching approach aligned with the school's ethos while remaining inclusive. I also attended cultural awareness training and engaged with parents during religious celebrations. This approach resulted in stronger parent-teacher relationships and helped create an environment where all children felt their heritage was valued and respected.
2Question

Describe a time you worked collaboratively with specialist teachers

Last year, I worked with our music specialist and PE teacher to create a cross-curricular project on rhythm and movement for my Year 1 class. We planned a 4-week unit where children explored mathematical patterns through music and physical movement. I coordinated the literacy elements, writing poems about different sports, while the music teacher taught rhythm patterns and the PE teacher incorporated these into movement activities. We held weekly planning meetings and shared assessment data. The collaboration resulted in 95% of pupils meeting their phonics targets and significantly improved their mathematical understanding of patterns and sequences.
