1Question

Tell me about a time when you had to analyse complex information to solve a problem

While managing inventory for a retail client, I noticed discrepancies between reported stock levels and actual sales data across 12 product lines. I systematically analysed 6 months of transaction data using Excel pivot tables, identifying that 8% of returns weren't being properly recorded in the system. I created a tracking spreadsheet that highlighted the pattern and presented my findings to the operations manager. As a result, we implemented a new return processing protocol that reduced inventory discrepancies by 85% within 3 months.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders

During a process improvement project, I discovered that our customer response time averaged 4.2 days, significantly above the industry standard of 2.1 days. Rather than presenting raw data, I created a simple visual comparison showing our performance against 5 competitors and the potential revenue impact of £12,000 monthly losses. I presented this to the senior management team using clear charts and avoided technical jargon. The presentation led to approval for a new customer service system and additional staffing, ultimately reducing response time to 1.8 days within 6 months.
