1Question

Tell me about a time you had to manage a large territory with diverse clients

I managed a territory covering 3 regions with 38 clients across pharmaceutical, academic and manufacturing sectors. The challenge was maintaining regular contact while travelling 800 miles monthly. I implemented a CRM system to track client interactions and created a quarterly visit schedule prioritising high-value accounts. I also introduced virtual product demonstrations for routine follow-ups, reducing travel by 30% while increasing client touchpoints by 45%. This approach resulted in 15% territory growth and improved client satisfaction scores from 7.2 to 8.6 out of 10.
2Question

Describe a situation where you had to build relationships with technical decision-makers

I needed to penetrate a major pharmaceutical research facility where the Head of Analytical Chemistry was sceptical of our new HPLC system. Rather than pushing product features, I attended their monthly technical seminars for 4 months, contributing insights on method development. I arranged for our applications scientist to co-present a case study on impurity analysis. This consultative approach built trust and demonstrated our technical expertise. The relationship led to a £95K equipment purchase and referrals to 3 other research sites within their organisation.
