A well-established insurance group is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to join its Risk & Compliance function.
This is a senior, high-impact role supporting executive leadership, with responsibility for delivering compliance frameworks, regulatory advisory and financial crime oversight across a complex insurance environment.

The Role
You will act as a trusted advisor to the business, providing commercially focused compliance guidance while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements across the UK and international operations.

Key Duties

• Lead the delivery of the annual Compliance Plan and key workstreams 
• Provide expert advice on regulatory matters, including sanctions, licensing and SMCR 
• Oversee financial crime controls, including sanctions screening and due diligence on insureds and brokers 
• Design and deliver risk-based monitoring and assurance programmes
• Support the development and embedding of compliance frameworks, policies and governance structures
• Manage and support members of the Compliance team 
• Assist with regulatory applications and engagement with regulators 
• Contribute to Board and Committee reporting and attend senior governance forums 
• Deliver compliance training across the business 

Experience Required

• Minimum 5+ years’ Compliance experience within the insurance sector (essential)
• Strong background in financial crime, sanctions, licensing and regulatory advisory
• Experience within a non-life insurer environment
• Proven ability to operate as a decision-maker on complex compliance matters
• Experience managing or mentoring team members 
• Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks and insurance market practices
