A well-established insurance group is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to join its Risk & Compliance function.
This is a senior, high-impact role supporting executive leadership, with responsibility for delivering compliance frameworks, regulatory advisory and financial crime oversight across a complex insurance environment.

This is a senior, high-impact role supporting executive leadership, with responsibility for delivering compliance frameworks, regulatory advisory and financial crime oversight across a complex insurance environment.
The Role
You will act as a trusted advisor to the business, providing commercially focused compliance guidance while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements across the UK and international operations.
Key Duties
- Lead the delivery of the annual Compliance Plan and key workstreams
- Provide expert advice on regulatory matters, including sanctions, licensing and SMCR
- Oversee financial crime controls, including sanctions screening and due diligence on insureds and brokers
- Design and deliver risk-based monitoring and assurance programmes
- Support the development and embedding of compliance frameworks, policies and governance structures
- Manage and support members of the Compliance team
- Assist with regulatory applications and engagement with regulators
- Contribute to Board and Committee reporting and attend senior governance forums
- Deliver compliance training across the business
Experience Required
- Minimum 5+ years’ Compliance experience within the insurance sector (essential)
- Strong background in financial crime, sanctions, licensing and regulatory advisory
- Experience within a non-life insurer environment
- Proven ability to operate as a decision-maker on complex compliance matters
- Experience managing or mentoring team members
- Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks and insurance market practices
