About the Role

Are you a recent Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in education? We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to work as Teaching Assistants (TAs) in secondary schools across Blackpool, starting in September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring psychologists, teachers, or mental health professionals to support young people in a classroom environment while building invaluable practical experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students aged 11–16 with their learning across a range of subjects
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, particularly for students with additional needs (e.g. SEMH, ADHD, ASD)
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
  • Monitor and report on student progress and development
Ideal Candidate
  • A degree in Psychology (or related field)
  • Passion for working with young people and supporting their development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathetic, patient, and resilient nature
  • Interest in areas such as educational psychology, counselling, or teaching
  • Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
