  • Relevant teaching and leadership qualifications (or equivalent experience)

Benefits

  • Lead a values-driven organisation making a real social impact
  • Shape innovative provision for young people who need it most

1Question

Describe a time when you transformed underperforming educational provision

When I joined Meadowbrook College, the SEN provision was rated 'Requires Improvement' with only 52% learner progression rates. I conducted a comprehensive review identifying gaps in autism-specific support and staff training. I implemented a new person-centred approach, restructured the curriculum around employability skills, and invested in specialist autism training for 24 staff members. Within 14 months, we achieved 'Good' status from Ofsted and increased progression rates to 84%, with 67 learners successfully moving into employment or further education.
2Question

How do you motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams?

At Riverside Academy, I led a team of 35 professionals including teachers, therapists, and support workers. I established monthly cross-disciplinary case review meetings and created individual development plans linking to our learner outcomes. I introduced peer mentoring between departments and secured funding for 18 staff to complete autism specialist qualifications. This approach reduced staff turnover by 28% and improved collaborative working, with 94% of staff reporting increased job satisfaction in our annual survey.
