1Question

Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult parent enquiry at the front desk

A parent arrived demanding immediate access to their child's records during a busy morning registration period. I acknowledged their concern and explained our data protection procedures calmly. I arranged a private meeting room and retrieved the relevant information within 15 minutes, ensuring confidentiality while addressing their questions thoroughly. The parent left satisfied and later praised our professional approach to the headteacher. This reinforced the importance of balancing efficiency with empathy in school administration.
2Question

Describe how you prioritise tasks during a particularly busy school day

During our Ofsted inspection week, I faced multiple urgent requests including attendance reports, visitor management, and parent enquiries. I created a priority matrix focusing on statutory requirements first, then time-sensitive parent issues. I delegated visitor sign-ins to a teaching assistant and batched similar SIMS tasks together. By 2pm, I had completed all critical reports and maintained normal service levels. This systematic approach ensured nothing was missed during our most demanding period.
